![]() Hall Reads Together is a "One Book One Community" event designed to promote reading as a fun and meaningful part of everyday life, and to promote Hall County as a literate community. This event is based on an idea begun in Seattle over ten years ago and has since been adapted by over one hundred communities throughout the United States and Canada. Hall Reads Together strives to bring together business and education related interests to serve a common goal: to unite the community around one unique event and to create a dialogue about important issues that will build bridges of understanding among people of diverse ages, social, economic, and racial backgrounds. This project encourages a community to read one particular book over a set period of time. The program will sponsor Hall Reads Together book discussion groups, author readings, book signings, and much more. As uninitiated discussions of the book and author crop up over the morning wait for coffee, the line at a checkout counter, and even during a child's ball game, the whole community comes together with a common literary connection. |
